Maysville was an absolutely beautiful little town. It exceeded my expectation as far as the vibe and scenery goes. Overall, we found the area to be a little eerie, but mostly just peaceful, quiet and picturesque. Almost every square inch is steeped in historical value of some sort or another. Most of the touristy things, museums like the National underground railroad, and a few others are closed for the winter and in general re-open around March. So, if you plan on visiting, plan accordingly. The people we reached out to for more information on planning this trip were super kind and sent us tons of brochures (I'm sure they would do they same for you, upon request). Special thank you to them! Check out their website, and plan a visit. We will definitely be heading back in Spring. The moment we pulled onto the gravel drive, I was filled with trepidation and excitement. I had seen pictures of Octagon Hall before but it was nothing compared to the architectural wonder that stood before me now! The building, the grounds, the land and woods around it...it is absolutely beautiful. I knew we had a great night ahead of us and we were ready to investigate one of the most notably haunted locations in Kentucky. We took a group of seven, and each of us individually had an experience within the house or on the grounds. After we got home, and started going through the footage. We expected to have captured some of what we experienced, but what we found, truly made our jaws drop!!
